7amleh -  The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media is seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Engineer to support us in strengthening our organization’s technical infrastructure, cloud design and ensure smooth operations across cloud-based systems. This role is critical in maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient cloud environments while supporting and aligning with best practices in cloud design and implementation.

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud and Systems Management – Maintain secure, efficient, and cost-effective cloud systems; oversee updates, backups, and performance optimization.
  • Security and Compliance – Implement strong data protection measures; ensure compliance with digital security policies, regulations, and data protection laws.
  • Threat Monitoring & Response – Monitor for risks, develop prevention strategies, and coordinate with experts on emerging threats.
  • Automation and Efficiency – Streamline technical tasks, minimize downtime, and use monitoring tools to track system health.
  • Documentation – Maintain up-to-date policies, processes, and compliance records.
  • Network and Connectivity – Ensure safe, reliable internet and network access; manage access controls and secure communication.
  • Disaster Recovery and Continuity – Develop, test, and implement recovery strategies to ensure resilience during emergencies.
  • Continuous Improvement – Conduct annual reviews of systems and policies, recommending improvements based on trends and lessons learned.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience in cloud system design and management.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud design and implementation best practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to respond under pressure.
  • Clear communication skills, able to explain technical issues in plain language.
  • Prior experience in civil society or media organizations is an advantage.

Deliverables
  • Work on tasks / change requests on cloud resources aligning with our design.
  • Continuous monitoring and investigation of cloud and system status updates with regular reporting on cloud performance and security.
  • Regular updates on cloud design documents, implementation plan, and architecture diagrams.
